Apple presenteerde dit gisteravond als exclusieve functie voor de iPhone 4, maar zei daarbij dat het voorlopig alleen via een Wi-Fi-netwerk mogelijk zal zijn. Volgens Apple-topman Steve Jobs moet Apple eerst in gesprek met de verschillende telecomproviders voordat de functionaliteit ook via een 3G-netwerk geactiveerd zal worden.

Een woordvoerder van T-Mobile heeft tegenover de collega’s van Bright.nl verklaard dat de geplande uitbreiding van het 3G-netwerk op tijd klaar zal zijn voor de lancering van de iPhone 4 in juli.

Vodafone en KPN hebben geen enkel nieuws omtrent de iPhone 4 uitgebracht. Vodafone heeft na de launch van de 3gs wel aangegeven dat ze bij de launch van de nieuwe iPhone (4) de zaak opnieuw zouden gaan bekijken.
